HBT: Papi done for year?? |? Aceves suspended

David Ortiz went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI in his return from the disabled list last night against the Royals, but he?s not out of the woods yet with his strained right Achilles tendon.

Tim Britton of the Providence Journal reports that Ortiz is out of the starting lineup tonight and is scheduled to be re-evaluated as the Red Sox decide whether to shut him down for the rest of the season. Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine told?Evan Drellich of MLB.com that the team?s medical staff believes there?s little chance of a ruptured Achilles, but Ortiz is understandably concerned about making things worse, especially with free agency looming this offseason.

Ortiz, who turns 37 in November, is hitting .318/.415/.611 with 23 home runs, 60 RBI and a 1.026 OPS in 90 games played this year.
