Tips for dealing with sticky situations | The Mod Mommy

With a combination of my daughter being old enough to do crafts and the fact that it?s the holiday season, we sure have had a lot of art materials floating around the house.

So far we?ve used paint (for the first time!), crayons, glue sticks, stickers and frosting and candy for the gingerbread house. They were all a lot of firsts for my little two-year-old.

From the kitchen to the dining room to the family room, I think we?ve used three rooms in our house crafting this season. Therefore, we?ve been trucking these supplies everywhere. I recently decided one of my daughter?s Christmas gifts would be a ?busy box,? and in it has all of her craft supplies in one place.

I?m hoping this will help keep the house cleaner, and it will also keep sticky items and items that stain out of her reach. Plus, it?ll help keep me organized! Not to mention, if we travel to my mom?s or somewhere, we can just take the box with us and she?ll have all of the supplies she needs to keep her ?busy.? Triple bonus!

Another way I keep clean during crafting is by using disposable placements. I actually have them in my diaper bag at all times, but I also keep some in the house.

They?re these adorable plastic placements that stick to the table, whether it be at home or a restaurant, and your child can just do their project right on it. When you?re finished, the placement just peels up and you throw it out. Super easy!

I like them at restaurants because my daughter can eat directly on them and I know the surface is clean. So, we get multiple uses out of them.
